Prioritizing Ideas
Updated over a week ago

Hopefully every prioritized strategic challenge/objective has a good set of idea options to choose from. CASEy can analyze those options and suggest a start order ranking based on the company background, vision, challenge and other ideas. Clicking on the SMART TRIAGE button in the Proposed Ideas column in each challenge/objective calls on heyCASEy to suggest a ranking and gives the for and against argument for each idea to help vibrant discussion.

CASEy helps companies succeed by having clearly articulated visions and strategies that get solved.

This video will explain how to prioritize and choose what ideas to select for solving a strategic challenge using CASEy at HeyCASEY.io.

CASEy implements the Continuous Adaptive Strategy Execution method, or CASE for short.

CASE is a dynamic method to align strategy within companies and achieve results.

After a good set of ideas are generated, the right ideas need to be selected for development and delivery.

In another video, we looked at how to prioritize strategic challenges.

That prioritization determines where we want to invest, making sure the right challenges get solved.

Idea prioritization determines how we spend that investment.

It looks at all the candidate ideas and says - do this one next.

Similar to challenge prioritization, there are three factors that need to be balanced.

Customer Impact, Confidence in that Impact, and the Effort to develop and deliver.

CASEy helps you assess ideas using all three values in a blended fashion.

Let's take a look.

To see all the Proposed Ideas for a strategic challenge, click on its card or the View button.

In a strategy card view, there's an idea tracking board.

The first column holds all the proposed ideas.

When ideas are created, try to set their Impact, Confidence, and Effort values, or at least the Impact value.

If not done, quickly review all the candidates.

Then you can say, "Hey Casey, help me Smart Triage," by clicking the button at the bottom of the proposed solutions column.

I'll take the top 10 highest impact ideas and provide a proposed ranking, with a discussion for each idea including a supporting and a counter argument about start order.

I'm here to spark vibrant discussion, not to give a perfect ranking.

You make the final decisions; I'm just the AI help.

With that in mind, drag the ideas you want to promote to development into the Selected column.

And that's it, you will have the right ideas selected and ready for development.

By selecting ideas, they become visible in the delivery planning features of CASEy, but that's for another video.

Are you ready to evolve your strategic approach?
